From 26 to 31 October 2026, Kuwait hosts the Kuwait Major, one of the last two Majors of the Premier Padel season. Originally planned as a P1, the tournament was upgraded to Major status in May to replace the postponed Qatar Major. It therefore awards 2,000 points to the winner, six weeks before the Barcelona Finals. Here is everything you need to know before the first match: dates, format, favourites, stakes and broadcasting in France.

This article will be updated with the draw as soon as it is published.

Why a Major in Kuwait

The 2026 calendar included four Majors: Doha in April, Rome, Paris and Acapulco. On 16 March, Premier Padel and the FIP postponed the Qatar Major. On 7 May, they announced two upgrades for the 2026 season only: the Kuwait tournament moved from P1 to Major, and Pretoria from P2 to P1. The announcement cited the sporting balance of the season and operational disruption linked to the war in Iran.

The result: many online calendars still refer to a “Kuwait P1”. It is indeed a Major, on the same level as Roland-Garros. Our Premier Padel 2026 calendar details all of these changes.

Kuwait and padel

This is the second time the Premier Padel tour has stopped in Kuwait. In November 2024, the Kuwait City P1 was played at The Arena, at 360 Mall and at the Rafa Nadal Academy, with €470,000 in prize money. Coello and Tapia beat Stupaczuk and Yanguas (6-4, 6-2), and Sánchez and Josemaría beat Triay and Fernández (7-5, 7-6). In 2025 there was no Premier Padel tournament in Kuwait, but the country hosted the FIP World Cup for pairs, won by Galán / Chingotto and Josemaría / Sánchez.

The contenders

Chart of 2026 Premier Padel titles by pair before the Kuwait Major: in the men’s game, Coello and Tapia 11, Galán and Chingotto 7, Lebrón and Augsburger 1; in the women’s game, Brea and Triay 6, González and Josemaría 6, Sánchez and Ustero 4, Fernández and Calvo 2, Icardo and Jensen 1
Eleven titles for Coello and Tapia; in the women's game, two pairs level at the top.

Men: Coello and Tapia, then everyone else

Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia arrive in Kuwait with eleven titles in 2026, including three in a row: the Paris Major on 13 September, Rotterdam on 4 October and Düsseldorf on 11 October, the last two finals won against Stupaczuk and Sanz. They are top seeds at every tournament, and led the Race with 12,620 points in mid-September.

Their only real rivals remain Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, with seven titles this season, the latest at the Madrid P1 in early September, and 11,350 points in the Race. They are defending their title at the Milan P1 this week. Behind them, Lebrón / Augsburger (winners in Brussels), Stupaczuk / Sanz and Di Nenno / Navarro complete the top 5 seeds.

Women: four pairs for one title

The women’s season is far more open. Delfina Brea and Gemma Triay, the No. 1 seeds, and Bea González and Paula Josemaría, No. 2, have six titles each. Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero have four, including the Paris Major. And Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo, with two titles, have just beaten Sánchez and Ustero 6-3, 6-0 in the Düsseldorf final. The Race was tight in mid-September: 8,480 points for González / Josemaría, 8,080 for Sánchez / Ustero.

The stakes: the race to the Barcelona Finals

Only the top 8 pairs of the year (the 16 best men and the 16 best women in the FIP Race) will play the Finals, at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona from 10 to 13 December. By mid-September, thirteen players had already secured their place: Coello, Tapia, Galán, Chingotto, Lebrón and Augsburger among the men; Brea, Triay, González, Josemaría, Sánchez, Ustero and Claudia Fernández among the women.

With Kuwait (2,000 points), Dubai (1,000) and Acapulco (2,000), up to 5,000 points remain up for grabs. For pairs ranked between sixth and tenth, the Kuwait Major is the best chance of the year to move ahead.

Where to watch the Kuwait Major in France

Canal+ holds the Premier Padel rights in France. According to the broadcasting guides published for the season, the early rounds are shown on Premier Padel’s official YouTube channel and on Canal+, then the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals on Canal+ only. Kuwait is two hours ahead of Paris in winter time: a match scheduled for 8 pm in Kuwait is played at 6 pm in France.

What to watch, and what to take from it

Three things to follow during the week:

  • Coello and Tapia’s winning streak. A fourth win in a row would confirm their dominance before the Finals.
  • Galán and Chingotto’s revenge, after losing the Paris final having served for the title.
  • Fernández and Calvo, the rising pair of the end of the season, against the three established pairs.

On court, watch the battle for the net: the best pairs spend most of the rallies lobbing to win back the net and volleying to keep it. That is the basis of our guides on the lob and the volley. And at every deuce, remember the Star Point, applied across the whole tour since this season.

To play like the tour’s attackers, the SCUD Black Impact B3 relies on a diamond shape and head-heavy balance; the SCUD White S3 keeps that shape with a more forgiving 12K carbon.
